KMUTNB actively collaborates with local communities, such as Nonthaburi province to preserve and maintain the health of shared aquatic ecosystems through the joint efforts of its faculties and research centers. The Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Applied Science lead initiatives in water quality assessment, wastewater treatment innovation, and aquatic pollution monitoring, ensuring that scientific knowledge is effectively applied to local environmental challenges. The Faculty of Industrial Technology and Management works with local organizations to design sustainable management frameworks for community water resources, while the Faculty of Technical Education supports capacity-building by providing training programs on environmental awareness and sustainable water practices for teachers and community members.
Furthermore, the KMUTNB Science and Technology Research Institute and the Center for Environmental and Energy Engineering (CEEE) engage in collaborative research and field projects that promote restoration of canals, ponds, and wetlands around the university’s surrounding areas. These efforts include community-based monitoring, aquatic habitat restoration, and the development of innovative systems for water recycling and pollution control. By combining academic expertise with local knowledge, KMUTNB fosters a strong partnership network dedicated to safeguarding aquatic ecosystems and achieving long-term environmental sustainability in line with the university’s mission and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
For example:
From June 19–21, 2024, the Faculty of Technical Education, KMUTNB, organized a workshop and study visit under the theme “55 Years of Technical Education: Empowering the Future of Sustainability.” The event took place at the Sirindhorn International Environmental Park in Cha-am District, Phetchaburi Province, and at Wora Bura Hua Hin Resort and Spa in Hua Hin District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province.
Activities during the event included the release of aquatic species at the Sirindhorn International Environmental Park, a summary presentation of executive achievements, team-building activities, and a special lecture delivered by Asst.
