KMUTNB Anti-discrimination, anti-harassment and social inclusion policy

Anti-Discrimination Policy

KMUTNB is committed to maintaining an inclusive, fair, and respectful academic and professional environment for all members of its community. In accordance with the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Gender Equality Act B.E. 2558 (2015), the university prohibits all forms of discrimination based on gender, age, ethnicity, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, political opinion, socioeconomic background, or any other personal or social status. This policy applies to all aspects of the university’s operations, including admissions, employment, academic activities, research, promotions, training, and access to facilities and services. Decisions related to these activities shall be based solely on merit, qualifications, and relevant performance criteria. KMUTNB will actively promote equal opportunities by implementing diversity and inclusion initiatives and will provide appropriate mechanisms for individuals to raise complaints or report any incidents of discrimination. The university’s Human Resource Department and the Office of Student Development will jointly oversee compliance with this policy, ensure that all members are aware of their rights and responsibilities, and take corrective action against violations in accordance with Thai law and university regulations.

Disability Accommodation Policy

In alignment with the Persons with Disabilities Empowerment Act B.E. 2550 (2007) and related ministerial regulations, KMUTNB is dedicated to ensuring that persons with disabilities have equal access to education, employment, and university services. The university will provide reasonable accommodations and appropriate support measures to eliminate barriers that may prevent individuals with disabilities from fully participating in academic, professional, and social life on campus. These accommodations include, but are not limited to, accessible infrastructure, assistive technologies, modified learning materials, extended examination time, adaptive laboratory equipment, and accessible communication formats. KMUTNB will allocate adequate funding within its annual budget to maintain and improve facilities, provide necessary assistive devices, and support specialized services such as interpreters or note-taking assistance. All departments and administrative units are responsible for implementing inclusive practices within their operations. The Office of Student Development and Human Resource Department will coordinate disability support services, assess individual needs, and ensure confidentiality and respect in all interactions. The university will also conduct regular training for staff and faculty to raise awareness about disability inclusion and to promote a culture of respect and understanding.

Anti-Harassment Policy

KMUTNB strictly prohibits all forms of harassment—including sexual harassment, bullying, intimidation, and any behavior that creates a hostile or unsafe environment—whether physical, verbal, written, or online. This policy aligns with the Thai Labour Protection Act B.E. 2541 (1998) and the Gender Equality Act B.E. 2558 (2015), ensuring protection for all employees, students, and visitors to the university. The university will not tolerate harassment based on gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, disability, or any other characteristic protected under Thai law. All staff, faculty, and students are expected to behave with professionalism, respect, and integrity in all interactions. KMUTNB will establish clear reporting and investigation procedures to handle complaints confidentially and fairly. The university guarantees that no person who reports harassment in good faith will face retaliation. Disciplinary actions, consistent with Thai law and internal regulations, will be taken against any individual found responsible for harassment. Furthermore, awareness campaigns and training programs will be organized regularly to educate the university community on appropriate conduct, respect, and prevention of harassment.
