KMUTNB is committed to promoting gender equality by ensuring fair access, participation, and advancement opportunities for women across all programs and activities. The university implements policies, including an Access and Participation Plan, to support women’s applications, admissions, and engagement in academic and professional development programs.
KMUTNB provides targeted mentorship, scholarships, and leadership programs to empower female students and staff, while creating an inclusive campus environment free from discrimination and gender bias. By fostering equal opportunities and representation, the university contributes to the personal and professional growth of women and strengthens their participation in science, technology, engineering, and other fields. These initiatives align with national and global efforts under SDG 5, promoting gender equality and empowering women within the university and the wider community.

Associate Professor Dr. Smith Songpiriyakij, Dean of the College of Industrial Technology, KMUTNB, welcomed a group of distinguished speakers from the Council of Engineers Thailand for a special seminar titled “Preparation for Professional Engineering Licensure.” The session featured expert speakers with extensive experience in the field of engineering, including Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanet Veerasiri, President of the Council of Engineers; Prof. Dr. Panit Wutipruk, Subcommittee Member of the Civil Engineering Division; and Ms. Piyaporn Hutanon, Committee Member of the KMUTNB Alumni Association. The seminar aimed to provide guidance and support for students and interested participants in preparing for the professional engineering licensure process. Key topics covered included eligibility criteria, application procedures, examination details, required documents, and sources of study materials. The Council of Engineers Thailand serves as the official licensing body responsible for issuing, suspending, or revoking licenses for practitioners in the field of controlled engineering. It also accredits engineering degrees, diplomas, and certificates, and certifies professional competence in
various engineering disciplines. The seminar received strong interest from both faculty members and students, reflecting the growing awareness of professional standards in engineering education. Importantly, the event also emphasized the promotion of gender equality in engineering, encouraging both male and female students to pursue professional licensure and leadership roles in the field. The inclusion of women experts such as Ms. Piyaporn Hutanon highlighted KMUTNB’s commitment to supporting equal opportunities for women in engineering, fostering an inclusive environment where all individuals can thrive and contribute to the advancement of the profession. The event was held on January 6, 2024, at Palmkaew Conference Room, Building 63, College of Industrial Technology, KMUTNB.
