King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) actively participates in policy-focused research in collaboration with government departments, providing expertise to support evidence-based decision-making. Faculty members and research teams undertake commissioned studies, program evaluations, and impact assessments that address national priorities and inform public policy.
For example, in 2024, KMUTNB researchers, led by Pichalananda Sonthivilur and colleagues, were commissioned to act as consultants to evaluate the outcomes and impacts of research projects, a study funded by Naresuan University under the supervision of the Office of the Science Promotion, Research and Innovation (SPO). This work provided actionable insights and recommendations that government agencies could use to improve research management, funding allocation, and policy implementation. Through such collaborations, KMUTNB demonstrates its commitment to applying academic expertise to address societal challenges, strengthen public-sector research capacity, and contribute to the formulation and evaluation of government policies.
