KMUTNB is committed to promoting sustainable food systems and responsible consumption across all university campuses. To support this commitment, KMUTNB adopts a policy to ensure that food provided, sold, or served within the university originates from sustainably farmed sources. This includes food products that are cultivated or produced using environmentally friendly agricultural practices, such as reduced chemical usage, responsible water management, soil conservation, and biodiversity protection.
The university’s Office of Student Affairs, canteen management, and procurement divisions will collaborate with local farmers, cooperatives, and certified sustainable producers to prioritize the sourcing of seasonal, organic, and locally grown ingredients. Preference will be given to suppliers who demonstrate adherence to national or international sustainability standards, such as Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) or equivalent certifications. KMUTNB will also encourage campus vendors to minimize food waste, reduce single-use packaging, and promote plant-based menu options to further reduce the environmental footprint of food services.
