KMUTNB actively collaborates with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through student volunteering, research initiatives, and the development of educational resources. These partnerships enable the university to leverage expertise, mobilize resources, and implement projects that address social, environmental, and educational challenges.
Student Volunteering Programmes:
KMUTNB encourages students to participate in volunteering programmes organized in collaboration with NGOs, focusing on community development, environmental sustainability, and social welfare. For example, student teams work with local NGOs to support clean energy projects, conduct environmental awareness campaigns, or implement digital literacy workshops for underserved communities. Such activities allow students to apply their technical knowledge and leadership skills while contributing to SDGs.
Research Programmes:
Through joint research initiatives with NGOs, KMUTNB faculty and students conduct applied studies addressing pressing sustainability challenges. Examples include assessing energy-efficient technologies for industrial applications, developing sustainable infrastructure solutions, or evaluating community-based disaster preparedness programmes. These research projects not only generate actionable knowledge for NGOs and policy-makers but also contribute to SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) by promoting evidence-based interventions and scalable solutions.
Development of Educational Resources:
KMUTNB collaborates with NGOs to develop educational tools, curricula, and learning platforms that promote sustainable practices and social awareness. For instance, faculties create STEM or STEAM educational modules, digital learning platforms, or interactive workshops aimed at youth and community members. These resources enhance learning opportunities while fostering creativity, critical thinking, and sustainability literacy among students and the wider public, aligning with SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Through these combined efforts—student engagement, collaborative research, and resource development—KMUTNB strengthens partnerships with NGOs and contributes to achieving the SDGs, while simultaneously cultivating socially responsible graduates capable of making a positive impact in their communities and beyond.
