King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) recognises that hunger and inadequate access to nutritious food among students can significantly hamper academic performance, wellbeing and successful completion of studies. In order to prevent and alleviate food insecurity among its student population, the University has established a dedicated intervention programme which includes the operation of on-campus food assistance resources such as food banks or pantries, allocation of emergency food support, and collaboration with student welfare services to identify and support students experiencing hunger. The varieties of foods provided in our canteens have options to service various groups of food preferences, like halal, vegetarian, or healthy foods. KMUTNB canteen opens everydays from 7AM – 5 PM. To support the affordable foods to students and staffs, KMUTNB provide low rental rates for food sellers, so that the selling prices of foods in KMUTNB canteen will be cheaper than average about 10-30%. Furthermore, KMUTNB has small food shops, cafe, and food stands around campuses so our students and staffs can access foods when in needed. Through these measures, KMUTNB strives to ensure that no student is disadvantaged in their studies because of unmet basic nutritional needs.
