Policy on Sustainable Sourcing of Aquatic Food Products

KMUTNB is committed to promoting environmental sustainability and responsible consumption through the ethical and sustainable sourcing of all food served on its campuses. In alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 14: Life Below Water, the university adopts the following policy to ensure that all aquatic food products—including fish, seafood, and other aquatic-based ingredients—are sustainably harvested.

KMUTNB will procure aquatic food products only from suppliers and producers that demonstrate compliance with national fisheries regulations, sustainable aquaculture practices, and traceable supply chains. All food vendors and contractors operating within the university must provide documentation verifying that aquatic products are not derived from overfished, illegal, unreported, or unregulated (IUU) sources. The university will regularly review and update supplier compliance through sustainability audits and reports. Through this policy, KMUTNB aims to lead by example in ensuring that all aquatic food products consumed on campus contribute to healthy oceans, sustainable fisheries, and the long-term well-being of both people and the planet.
